Jakarta Foreign Tourists Arrivals Continue Rise in July 2022

Abstract

In the middle of 2022, the tourism sector continues to show recovery of impact of the pandemic. It can be seen from the number of foreign tourist arrivals that have consistently increased since the beginning of 2022. The pandemic is in the control stage and attracts foreign tourists to visit Jakarta, especially during the summer holidays, which is the highest peak of foreign tourist arrivals.

In July 2022, both monthly and yearly, foreign tourist arrivals increased. 119.2 thousand foreign tourists were visiting Jakarta, which rose by 39.3 percent compared to the previous month (m-to-m) and a sharp increase of 2,078.7 percent compared to the last year (y-on-y).

The highest international tourist arrivals came from ASEAN countries and Europe in July 2022. Meanwhile, based on nationality, as in the previous month, tourists from Malaysia had the highest number of arrivals.
