Jakarta Foreign Tourists Arrivals Show Positive Trend At The End of First-Quarter 2023

Abstract

In March 2022, the number of foreign tourist arrivals continued a positive trend, with an increase of 11.15 percent compared to February 2023. This was due to repeal of PPKM that made the tourism industry recover and rise. In addition, the government’s efforts to attract foreign tourists to Indonesia through promotions at various international events as another booster for tourism industry recover.

The number of foreign tourists arriving in Jakarta rose throughout the first quarter of 2023. Cumulatively, there were 384,593 foreign tourists visited Jakarta. This figure increased by 628.19 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.

In March 2023, the domination of foreign tourists was still from ASIA, excluding ASEAN countries, reaching 55,436 visits. Based on nationality, the highest share of foreign tourists was China, with 21,16 percent.
